Form or Join Prayer Groups
The most precious gift we can offer the Mission is prayer. Money builds walls and supports people, skills shape programs and schools — but prayer calls down the grace of the Holy Spirit, without which all labor is in vain (cf. Psalm 127:1).
When you pray for the Mission in the Pacific, you become mystically present in its life. You stand beside the clergy, strengthen the faithful, and even reach those who have not yet heard the name of Christ. Prayer is never “just” prayer — it is the beating heart of the Church’s life.
“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16)
“By the prayers of the Church, the whole world is held together.” — St. John Chrysostom
How to Offer Your Prayer
✔️ Daily Remembrance – include the Mission, its clergy, and faithful in your morning or evening prayers.
✔️ Prayer Groups – gather with family, friends, or parish members to pray for the Mission regularly.
✔️ Liturgical Intercession – request commemorations at the Divine Liturgy for the Mission and its workers.
✔️ Special Seasons – dedicate fasts or prayer rules for the strengthening of the Orthodox witness in the Pacific.
✔️ Monastic Support – ask monasteries to remember the Mission in their services and vigils.
Through prayer, even those who cannot travel or give materially still carry the Gospel to the ends of the earth.
The Blessing of Prayer
Prayer changes the one who prays and the one prayed for. In offering intercession, you are not only helping the Mission — you are being drawn deeper into the mystery of Christ Himself.
“Prayer is the place of refuge for every worry, a foundation for cheerfulness, a source of constant happiness, a protection against sadness.” — St. John Chrysostom
