Serve in the Mission Field
The Apostles left everything to follow Christ, and countless saints after them offered their lives for the Gospel.
Service in the Mission Field is not simply volunteering — it is discipleship, an offering of yourself to Christ and His people.
By giving your talents, skills, and presence, you become a co-worker with Christ the Sower, planting seeds of faith that will grow into His harvest. Whether teaching, building, offering medical care, or simply lending a helping hand, you bear witness to the love that saves the world.
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)
Ways to Serve in the Mission Field
✔️ Teaching & Catechism – sharing the Orthodox Faith, training catechumens, supporting children’s and youth education.
✔️ Building & Practical Skills – construction, carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, maintenance, and other trades that support church and community projects.
✔️ Medical & Health Care – doctors, nurses, and carers offering healing, health education, and compassionate service to the sick.
✔️ Music & Liturgical Arts – choir, Byzantine chant, iconography, and church arts that uplift worship and teach the Faith through beauty.
✔️ Administration & Support – assisting with organization, communication, translation, or logistics for the Mission’s daily needs.
✔️ Community Care – child care, visiting the sick, helping families in need, or supporting local initiatives of charity and service.
✔️ Simply Being Present – offering encouragement, prayer, and your presence among the faithful. Sometimes the most powerful gift is simply being there with Christ’s love.
