The Orthodox Church is the living continuation of the Faith of the Apostles, given to us by Christ for the salvation of the world. This Faith is not only for one nation or one people, but for all. Our Lord said: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19).
The Orthodox Mission in the Pacific exists to bring this same Gospel of Christ to the peoples of Oceania: to bear witness to the Truth, to share the love of God, and to invite all into the life of the Church through prayer, teaching, and the sacraments.
We live and serve among the people, not as strangers but as brothers and sisters. Our mission is to:
Proclaim the Gospel in word and deed, showing that Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Celebrate the Divine Liturgy and the Holy Mysteries, offering the life of the Church to those who seek Christ.
Serve the poor and the suffering, bringing mercy and compassion where there is need.
Translate and teach the Orthodox Faith in the local languages, so that every heart may hear the Gospel in its own tongue.
Form and support clergy and lay leaders, that the local Church may grow strong and rooted in Christ.
Our calling is to bear witness to the love of God, to the healing of the human person, and to the hope of the Resurrection. As St. John Chrysostom teaches:
“The Church is not a wall and a roof, but faith and life. Do not tell me that here is the altar, there the place of sacrifice; but show me souls consecrated to God.”

Mission is therefore the renewal and sanctification of human lives through Christ. The Church does not offer only words, but the very presence of Christ, in the Holy Mysteries, in love for the poor, and in the communion of believers.
We face many challenges—poverty, distance, misunderstanding—but the joy of the Gospel is greater. As the Apostles planted the Church from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth, so today the Orthodox Mission continues that same Apostolic Ministry in the Pacific islands.
Some are called to serve in the field, others to give, others to pray.
Together we form one body in Christ. By supporting the Mission—through prayer, through donations, or by coming to serve—you help the Church grow in this blessed part of the world.
“The harvest is plentiful, but the labourer’s are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest.”(Luke 10:2)
The Orthodox Church continues the Apostolic Ministry entrusted to her by the Lord: to proclaim the Gospel, to bring the healing of the Sacraments, and to gather all people into the life of Christ.
Our mission unfolds in three inseparable ways: by building churches where God is worshipped, by building communities where His people are united, and by building lives transformed through His grace.
